Cuffley company celebrates expansion

30th March 2010

A leading training centre in Cuffley is expanding to meet the growing popularity of its courses. Ellis Training Works (ETW) in Sopers Road, is recognised internationally for its training in refrigeration and air conditioning. It has taken on two new members of staff to cope with the extra demand for courses, in particular those relating to a significant new law which comes into place next year.

As of 4th July, 2011 most refrigeration and air conditioning engineers will be required to have an F Gas qualification to continue working legally.

“In a bid to reduce emissions of green houses gases all engineers carrying out work on units containing certain refrigerants must be F Gas qualified,” explained John Ellis, owner of ETW. “Anyone who does not have this qualification by next July will be working illegally. There is also an onus on the person employing the engineer to check his F Gas qualification so this is a very significant law which I don’t think everyone is fully aware of.”

ETW offers a full range of F Gas courses from its fully equipped, purpose built centre which was established in 1998. It also runs a full training programme on all aspects of the installation, commissioning, servicing and maintenance of refrigeration and air-conditioning systems. All courses are run by experienced, fully qualified trainers.

Joining the existing team are John’s son-in-law Ben Burton and his daughter Sam Burton. “I’m delighted to welcome Ben and Sam on board,” said John. “With the extra manpower we will have even greater flexibility to meet business owners and discuss their requirements. Of course, we always welcome people at the Cuffley premises and if anyone wants to find out more about F Gas or any of our other courses we would be delighted to see them.”
