Split AC (Heat Pump) Installation & Commissioning

Who will benefit?
The aim of this qualification is to introduce, train, assess and qualify where appropriate candidates to Install and Commission Split Air Conditioning (Heat Pump) Systems. It will enable them to ‘cross train’ while enhancing their skills and gaining necessary knowledge in the air conditioning sector. A 2079 Safe Handling qualification is a pre-requisite for this course.
What will be gained?
Sufficient skills, knowledge and techniques to:
- Plan an installation and necessary minor building works
- Fabricate, connect and fit pipework and insulation
- Carryout necessary ‘strength and leak’ pressure tests
- Connect and test the electrical supply from isolator to units
- Evacuate and dehydrate the installed pipework
- Adjust refrigerant charge
- Commission and test the installed system
- ‘Hand over’ system to customer
