Who will benefit?
The aim of the course is to introduce, train assess and qualify, where appropriate, engineers who wish to recover and charge mobile air conditioning systems to the latest European regulations. All such engineers will have to obtain this qualification by July 2010.
What will be gained?
Sufficient skills, knowledge and techniques to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the layout and operating principles of mobile air conditioning systems.
- Recover and recharge vehicle air conditioning systems
- Leak check systems using visual and electronic methods
- Show an understanding of the environmental implications and related regulations
- Understand the health and safety legislation and procedures related to handling refrigerants in the workshop.
How will it be tested?
By both comprehensive practical and oral theory assessment
