 Who will benefit?

Air conditioning engineers who have already gained suitable experience and who wish to progress to the energy assessment of air conditioning systems as required by the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive. To enable engineers to benefit from this intensive course, candidates will only be accepted who have already achieved a City & Guilds 2079 F Gas qualification.

What will be gained?

Sufficient skills, knowledge and techniques to:

  • carry out air conditioning system inspection and energy assessment for systems to CIBSE TM44
  • includes packaged, unitary, split, multi-split/VRF equipment

After completing the inspections you will be able to:

  • make recommendations enabling improvements to be made to system performance
  • use energy inspections to highlight opportunities to replace older, less efficient systems with new, more energy efficient ones

Training & Assessment

The course requires attendance at our centre for two sessions, the first of three days and the second of two days. During the first session the training will cover the introduction, regulations, inspection process and instruction for self study. Session two will convene after candidate’s period of ‘self study’ during which the portfolio of energy inspections will be completed. In the final two day session, candidates will complete preparations for the external examination (30 questions multi-choice) and finalise the assessment of their inspection portfolio.

Fee includes:

Registration, certificate, lunch and refreshments, training materials which includes one copy of CIBSE TM44 and a reading list for the ‘self study’ period.
